Hong Kong police were seen performing the mainland Chinese military “goose-step” marching style for the first time at handover anniversary events on July 1, 2021, marking 24 years since the former British colony’s return to China. Officers had been using the British marching style in the past. But this year, following the introduction of a national security law in Hong Kong, both marching styles were adopted.
