As always, thanks for watching!
************************************

Hi everyone!

The MPC Renaissance is a great piece of gear. But, none-the-less, it's been the bane of my life for some time.

To be able to master it, to the point of being able to do a proper walkthrough for you, would take a serious amount of time; which I simply don't have! But as I like it so much, I really didn't want to send it back to Akai without sharing some opinions on it.

So, here's my overview of the hardware, and some thoughts about where it sits in the market, so hopefully you can look into it a little more, if you're shopping for a proper studio workstation.

If you want to get more in-depth info about ways to work with the MPC Renaissance, I suggest you head over to Akai's own series of videos hosted by Young Guru - a man who knows how to work an MPC with his eyes closed.

The music is the video is used with the kind permission of the copyright owner, Newcastle-based Warped Bridge Records. Thanks to them, as always, for their support.

Hi, Thanks for the overview.
Would this work as a stand-alone unit? Does it always need a PC/Mac to be connected? I am looking to use it for live performances & don't want to be carrying this and a laptop along with my E drum kits.
