Emmeline's Baby | The Blue Lagoon (Brooke Shields)

Two small children and a ship's cook survive a shipwreck and find safety on an idyllic tropical island. Soon, however, the cook dies and the young boy and girl are left on their own. Days become years and Emmeline and Richard make a home for themselves surrounded by exotic creatures and nature's beauty. But will they ever see civilization again?

I hate how they sexualized Brooke Shields since she was just a kid. Pretty baby, the blue lagoon, endless love, the Jordache thing. Since before Dan Schneider Hollywood and the perverts behind so many shows and movies were really putting it in our faces and normalized it to the point we were blinded to it. Sad

Me and my friends watched this in probably 7th grade, no clue what it was but watched the whole thing and it’s been a talking point ever since. That was 25 years ago.

We can still never figure out how a tribe on the island never happened upon a beachside villa

Everyone keeps comparing this movie to Flowers in the Attic. The Blue Lagoon and Flowers in the Attic are way different in many ways

It was a book long before it was a movie. Their guardian died, they had to survive on their own and had very little knowledge of the world, etc, as little kids. Even though this was/is a work of fiction - I'm sure at some point in history somethinf like thja could have happened. Remember: sex ed was not something that was discussed, ever, until about 70-80 years ago. And this story takes place in the early 1900s

I didn’t think they were actually cousins thought her parents were friends with Richards parents and out of respect the kids called each of the other parents aunty and uncle but it was a good movie just watched it the other night

Growing up, my mom would not allow me to watch any thing with Brooke Shields in it. I only saw this movie as an adult.
