If you pay attention, the signal gets cut off and Gregory sounded a little different. This leads me to believe the mimic tricked Cassie, making her believe Gregory betrayed her.

The 'person' who cut the elevator cord could've been the Mimic as Gregory had (in most endings) left the Pizzaplex long ago. We know that the Mimic is relatively strong, so it destroying the elevator's controls isn't outside the realm of possibility.

Between Gregory saying “and now it’s free” and “it’s not your fault” you can hear the speaker make a strange and very suspicious sound. I believe that it was sincerely Gregory until that sound and then the mimic took control again. This is why Cassie was sent back down into the plex.

Their is 2 problems here
1) In the elevator scene their are 2 Gregory subtitles now why would their be 2 subtitles unless one of them is the Mimic trying to make it look like Gregory stopped the elevator.
2) If it was the real Gregory who stopped the elevator why would he try to help Cassie reach the elevator instead of not doing anything.

There's actually 2 variants of the line he says at the end. He's supposed to say "Make sure it doesn't follow you" according to lines in the game files labelled "GregReal" iirc, while the line we hear in-game is labeled "Grimic" for Gregory mimic

I can't believe he did that. This is six and mono all over again.

I personally believe Gregory didn't know if Cassie was really Cassie and not the Mimic, he had to make a choice, take a chance at saving Cassie and possibly bring the Mimic up from the depths or break the elevator and protect everyone from the Mimic, in the end he decided to reassure the being in the elevator because it could be Cassie before cutting the cables.

Why is no one mentioning the duality of Helpi, the actual helpful AI with blue eyes, and the erratic, misleading AI with yellow eyes?

I don’t think that could have been Gregory instead mimic and mimic Just cut the ropes and when mimic said it’s not your fault he cut out the real Gregory from explaining the story
EDIT: thx for the likes

Gregory didn't betray cassie, you can hear a noise and see a new line in the subtitles meaning that the mimic started talking instead of gregory after Gregory explained what the mimic was. As for the elevator, in the og game freddy said that the elevator is a one way elevator either that or the mimic sabotaged the elevator plus Gregory said he isn't in the pizza Plex so how is he on the intercom???

Are we even sure that it was really Gregory? Because all the times I feel like he just lures Cassie into more and more danger. From FNAF SB he seems like a smart and sensible boy, so I don't think he will intentionally put his friend into danger.

I mean, if it is the real world if you're in trouble but manage to call your friend, don't you want them to bring more help with them?

Doesn't make sense that he would help Vanessa but not her. The mimic is getting out either way, whether she survives or not. I believe it was the mimic doing Gregory's voice at the end at the elevator, giving her the wrong directions on purpose. I don't think Gregory's is in it at all. I think the mimic wanted her not to leave to use her voice next as the next "trap" to get another kid down there again. Maybe this time to get Gregory himself.

Notice when gregory said "It's not your fault" 0:23 the subtitle's name makes an unnecessary jump between two "Gregory:" whilst being on the same character's voice. The subtitle's name displays who is speaking at the moment, that unnecessary jump is a little suspicious. Meaning that the mimic messed with the intercom and cut the elevator wire.

And think again, how tf does Gregory's "hacking skills" could cut an analog elevator wire?

About the VANNI mask, you can see how the first time Cassie places it on her face, it basically injects a sort of microchip making her able to talk with Helpi. Even if she threw the mask away she'd still have that microchip so that might be the main reason to "not being followed"

It's revealed by the Mimic that it updated Helpi with a signal jammer and it's implied that it even hacked Helpi to communicate with Cassie, it's possible throughout the story the Mimic was also using Helpi to distrupt Gregory's attempts to contact Cassie and possibly did it during the subtitles when she was at the elevator.

There are 2 possible routes: either Gregory is worried that the Cassie is the mimic and cuts the elevator off to be better safe than sorry, or the mimic as a last ditch effort takes control of the elevator and makes Cassie think Gergory betrayed her

The running theory in the community right now is that 1. Princess Quest ending is true 2. William is dead, but an AI had learned from him 3. The Mimic was the one who dropped the elevator 4. Burntrap was just another Mimic, not really him. I just want this series to get rid of William and stop hinting at returning characters, Gregory doesn’t need to be the crying child, and Cassie doesn’t need to be Charlie, just make them original characters.

People seem to be arguing whether the Princess Quest ending is canon or not, I’ll tell you why a lot of people have come to that conclusion. 1. The Princess quest 3 machine has a golden sword in it 2. There are comic strips that signify which endings are fake, the Afton ending is one of those 3. Even if the Freddy in FazerBlast is different, it doesn’t have a head, and it’s in FazerBlast, seems like too much of a coincidence 4. Many messages you can find in the game say that the sinkhole beneath Roxy Raceway could cave in the PizzaPlex, leading to the assumption that this is how the building suffered its fate. Again though, these are OPINIONS, they could very well be wrong, we just don’t have enough information to disprove this though.

Come on guys, we should be discussing, not arguing, just take everything I say, or any theorist says, with a grain of salt even if their ideas are widely or popularly excepted. Opinions are opinions, I still don’t believe that Gregory is a robot, even though it’s a popular theory, that’s my opinion, it’s fine to have different theories, get along, please?

Greggory got intrrupted, his full line tells her to get out and hide until he comes to pick her up

While Cassie was in the elevator, at one point you can see two lines of dialog on the screen at one time for Gregory hinting that some other creature(The mimic) had cut off Gregory’s signal and caused the elevator to fall.

A better question is why didn’t the mimic (after having seemingly enough access to the internet to be able to contact Casey) just learn how to use the elevator that it clearly dug towards.
