I love the Phantom and I always will. Even if they make a few changes I will still love it, but I think that the classic 80's design of the show will always be the best one. There was nothing wrong with that. It was pure magic. I will always love the show, but if it's not broken, don't fix it!

There not changing the actual production in the West End, just creating an adpated one for the tour.

@skulblaka92 I don't really think they're flat out changing it. There really more sprucing it up, like new set designes, new effects, maybe some new blocking. Sorta like Les Mis. I really wouldn't be worried

I think updating the show to a certain degree is a great idea, but I do not think the show needs an entire facelift. It has worked its magic for 25 years now and has let to loose any of its sparkle. I hope they just don't go to all big LED screens for the sets like they did for the 25th anniversary show. That makes the show look so flat and takes away some of the magic. Now I will love the show no matter what, but like the saying goes: Its its not broke, don't fix it.

@TheWickedOne1987 I, too, fear what they'll do to the show. I hope they don't revamp it for huge venues like the RAH with all the gimicks of a Superbowl half-time show. If they want to cram in the big crowds, it may be inevitable. I wouldn't care if we had a decent video of the original production. In a recent interview, MIchael Crawford lamented they didn't capture it on tape.
