I really like the idea of making the same thing but with a sawsall & use it for circle cutting also.

Very clever. I would just change one thing. To use transparent polycarbonate instead of aluminium for the material guide/sawblade protector. With that you get excellent view of the cutting point.

i have the same makita sabre saw as you, and i've always considered the sabre saw the most useless power tool i have-- to be deployed only when nothing else will work. you solved the problem with sabre saws by by making a blade guide that prevents bending/twisting during the cut, converting it into something like a scroll saw but with a wider blade and straighter cut. of course depth of cut is limited here, but this is a problem you solved with your other jig saw table by mounting the saw 90 degrees, which allows for unlimited depth of cut, (for example, to cut a hyperbolic cosign curve along the edge of a 2M board). excellent idea and execution
