Why are my ATHLETES Rarely Injured? 90 Degree Eccentric Isometrics Bosu Ball Bench Parker Meadows
Показать описание
90 Deg = BEST.
Congrats MLB baseball pro Parker Meadows for a big home run and 2 runs last night to give Detroit the win.
Best shoes Vivobarefoot code DRJOEL.
Here he’s doing 90 Deg Eccentric Isometric Bench Press on BOSU Elite (code AHPWECK) from David Weck.
8 Key facts.
1.The 90 deg bench press protocol is similar to Spoto Press used by World Record Bench press Champion Eric Spoto.
2. Unless you’re a competitive powerlifter, there’s no reason to touch the bar to your chest on bench press variations. Do 90 deg eccentric isometrics instead.
3. This is a topic I go over in my book MOVEMENT REDEFINED with hundreds of studies. Besides various studies directly demonstrating this, if we examine the research regarding structural physiology, biomechanics, & neuromuscular physiology, all signs point to 90-deg as being optimal under high forces.
4. Besides saving the joints, 90-deg eccentric isometrics are superior not only in terms of therapeutic benefit but also for functional strength & size as well as power & proprioception.
5. This is true not only of bench press but squats, hinges, pulls, deadlifts, lunges, & presses.
6. Additionally 90 deg optimizes mobility. Yes, limiting ROM to 90-deg (the optimal end range for high load/impact activities) actually promotes increased mobility & ROM because it promotes tissue health.
7. In contrast, movements in excess of 90-deg often end up limiting mobility & flexibility as exaggerated positions can gradually produce chronic inflammation, spasticity & hypertonic muscles (your muscles will counteract excessive stretch by coming back tighter & spastic) which are the very things that limit mobility.
8. More & more powerlifters including Westside are using limited ROM moves such as floor press, board press, pin press, Spoto press, & YES & even 90 deg box squats. Coincidence? I think not.
People from around the globe are writing in daily telling us how 90 deg EI healed & transformed their bodies while also giving them more muscle growth, explosive power, & strength than any method. And our athletes rarely get injured. The methods are working & God gets all the glory!!
