Long Beach residents react to latest sand dune proposal. On Dec. 4 the Long Beach city council unanimously passed a resolution to re-approach the U.S. Army Corps on its $100 million project to build sand sand dunes to protect Long Beach from storm damage. The council hopes that the dunes will prevent any future storms from having the same devastating effect as superstorm Sandy.
