Testing Barbie Doll Hacks To See If They ACTUALLY Work!

DO THESE HACKS WORK??!!

When do I post?
I post every Saturday at 11:00am ET (8:00am PT, 9:00am MT, 10:00am CT) and if for some reason I'm not able to post at that exact time or day for a particular week, I'll make sure to let you know ahead of time on my Community Tab or Stories. I definitely think you should do more lashes on your dolls, although I personally use pre-made individual lashes and I glue them on to my dolls that way. Also for curling the hair, I'd suggest using straws rather than pipe cleaners so they won't get stuck.

I'm a 62 yr old grandma who loves this video. My 6 yr old granddaughter gave me a pitiful worn-out Barbie to keep at my house (for modeling the clothes I sew) Thanks to your tips ... this sad doll is getting a 'major' makeover ... hair-nails-lashes!!! I've had a lot of success with the pipe cleaner curlers. a good tip: use trimmed down coffee filters like you would the papers hairstylists use when giving a perm. extend them just past the ends on both sides of your hair section, spray them with a bit of water, and then wrap the hair around. that helps to make sure you've curled all the way to the end of the hair and helps to keep it from sticking to the pipe cleaner. a LOT less frizz that way.

Okay I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves rooted lashes on dolls! I own a few dolls with customized rooted lashes (someone else put them on, not me!) and it honestly adds SO MUCH to the doll.

Also, I’d love to see you do more doll hacks, this video was HILARIOUS! Might I suggest some like:

- Re-rooting doll hair with yarn
- Giving a doll bangs by curling them with a mascara brush and setting them with a product
- Removing doll ink stains on the face with toothpaste/acne cream

I put the hair between strips of saran wrap as endpapers when rolling doll hair. Around 1" square folded in half. Altho the size depends on length of doll hair and/or size of rollers(pipe cleaners or straws).

I also remove rollers while the hair is damp; it reduces frizz and flyaways.

You were hilarious in this video 🤣 Very entertaining. I would love to see part 2! Love how the eyelashes turned out! Definitely want to try this myself one day. I think you should try it on more dolls! It really makes them very unique. I have tried the pipe cleaner curl method on my dolls before and I've learned this; it depends on the dolls hair. It doesn't typically work well on dolls with longer smooth and straight hair. But for dolls that already have wavy/curly hair this works great. It also depends how you twist it in the dolls hair; it can look very different depending on how you do it. But I have noticed that it does pull a lot of the dolls hair out; rip dolls hair. Peices of straw or small sponge curls work a lot better

I did the paper clip one but with a larger clip, like a giant one. Worked wonderfully.

The lashes was amazing. I am considering doing it.. . Thr pipe cleaner hair curling does work. I've done to a couple of my dolls and her hair turned out really good.

i only now got this video suggested..
did the pipe cleaner curls on my latest custom & they turned out BEAUTIFUL! the prettiest ringlettes! i found it easier to start from the top of the head instead of the ends of the hair
you can also do doll lashes by cutting up human falsies, just make sure the band on them is thin
alsoalso, the nails on your doll turned out so pretty! definitely a succes! <3

The standard size paper clips work well for omg tween and similar sized dolls (6-7 inches)

This was great! Loved the nail hack. I cringed on the pipe cleaners. Straws seem best there. I need to try them with my newly acquired girls. The hanger was amazing, since those who collect Topper Dawn dolls can use the smaller paper clips. Small joys where I can.
