Started my golf journey with a blade, got a KS1 blade from Costco tried it out for 2 years then switched to a random Nike mallet for a year and saw my putts were better. Then been seeing a lot of spiders on tour and on the YouTube golf scene (Grant in particular recently) decided to get me a Spider HydroBlast 2 weeks ago. I’ve used it for 3 rounds and can already see an improvement in my start lines and in distance control. Feels amazing off the face! Great vid Trottie

Went to a spider from a Scotty and don’t think I would ever go back. Been a great addition. Agree with trottie about finding what feels best from visual and feel. Confidence with it is unreal. Trottie is da best!

Your chat about eye dominance in a previous video has changed my stance - left foot slightly back to open myself up a bit more so I'm looking more down the line and trusting my set-up more when my right eye dominance has me questioning it over the ball!

I got this putter, replacing a Scotty Newport 2....after 4 rounds I can say that it feels like I've unlocked easy mode when it comes to putting. Speed control is a bit different, but in terms of starting the ball on line and feeling comfortable over the putt, it's night and day.

I rotate between a Cameron Custom shop and a DJ Tour Spider with the slant neck. I like them both and put well with them both just depends on my putting stroke at the time. I used a Anser so long I kinda ingrained that stroke in my brain so it's taken a while to get used to a mallet but I really like the Spider Tour. I added a sight line with pin striping tape so it could easily be removed but it really didn't have much effect on lining the putt up. My Anser didn't have a sight line either.

Hey Trottie,

Thanks for the video. Any chance we can get you to do a video with tips for left eye dominant putting? What’s your suggested face balance vs toe hang? Also ball position. I’m really struggling with my speed control currently using an AI one 2 ball double bend white hot.

Thanks for your input!

Trottie, can you talk about the weights? My son and I would like to learn more on how it will affect him. Great video💪

Hi Trottie, do you have a video or specs for the armlock putter you are using?

You know I've been listening, I've got two putters in my "squad". I have my Newport because I can't get over the feel or the feeling of getting hot with it, and if the green I'm playing is firm (I try to play different courses throughout the year, so a lot of my course conditions change) I really prefer that feel. With the short slant Spider Tour I got, It absolutely helps me if I'm not 100% confident reading greens. I don't like it as much on those stiff greens because I feel like when I'm using the Spider, I am trusting the putter to do more of the work for me, and for some reason, I struggle more with distance control with the mallet on a really stiff green than I do just using my feel and my Newport, but if the green isn't super firm and fast, the Spider is the pick 9 times out of 10 (and the 10th time out of 10 is just because I'm golfing with someone I want to show my fancy Newport off to.)

Mr Trottie You are killing my pocket book this year! When I started a few years ago it was with a 5w and I've been wanting a spider...I've customized one 20 times but I keep looking at the necks and don't know which one! I'm more of a straight back straight through but when I'm putting really good I've got a little arch to it but it's small...so with that said...which neck would you get for someone like me? Or is there a right answer?

I’ll stick with my TP Soto. Love it. I started out with a mallet and just felt it was too bulky and heavy. Switched to the Soto and fell in love. Putting is by far the best part of my game. If I could just hit greens in reg I’d be a scratch golfer probably ha.
