I sat in the theater until the song was over and the film stopped. I loved this movie so much I went to the lobby, paid for another ticket, used the restroom and went back and saw it again. 1974, Philly.

I may have commented before. But me and some friends stayed in the movie theater for 8 hours watching this in AWE. Have the cassette, the vcr and the album.. We went on to do our own POTP. Swan was duck, phoenix was Arizona, beef was steak and windslow was just windslow. What a great time in my life, i still sing all the songs to this day at 62 years old! Paul Williams is a brilliant man!! Phantom of the opera has nothing on this. And i will always pick up a pack of juicy fruit gum in memory!!! God Bless you all and have a screaming good day!

Daft Punk LOVED this movie when they were kids...that is where the whole helmet theme came from.  Also Paul Williams composed all of the songs in this film, that is why they asked him to collaborate with them on Random Access Memories because they loved him!!!  He also wrote the songs for the original Muppet Movie...he wrote the classic Rainbow Connection

I 1st saw this movie as a 5yr old in 1977. I was completely terrified, electrified, transfixed and enraptured with it. Watched it everytime it came on tv, my older siblings had the album which I wore out aswell. It was not the success it should have been, it was intelligently written and directed. The music and the cast, was just amazing. To this day, I can still remember ever lyric, to ever song, which were all great. Paul William's as the villain was just chilling. The soundtrack to my misplaced childhood, lol

The first day I met a friend I've had for the past 25 years I mentioned this movie and how much I liked it and we bonded over our appreciation for it as most other people we knew didn't even know this movie existed. She told me at the time it was too bad the soundtrack didn't exist (as a cd). This was before you could go on the internet and search for stuff on ebay etc. One day I was wandering the mall looking for christmas presents and there was the cd. Bought one for myself and another for my freind and when I gave it to her I said "I got you something that doesn't exist."

I discovered this film back in 1994 on cable, I was 12. I was absolutely blown away, I had never seen something like it. Took me maybe 15 years to see it again, but I never forgot it.

What a great outro. All the instruments are perfect, drums, bass, piano, guitar go crazy one after the other. I love of it.

Love yourself as you love no other
Be no man's fool
Be no man's brother
We're all born to die alone ya know
And that's the hell of it

This movie stumbled through my quiet town of 10, 000 in 1974. I was eleven years old and saw it on the last night it was there. I wanted to see it again, but then it was gone. I had to wait 13 years for the VHS copy to see it again, but I bought the soundtrack and wore it to death. Nice to hear this song without clicks and pops! Thanks!

A bunch of us tween Navy kids rode our bikes to the base theater that summer and just watched it day after day - there was nothing else to do. It was mebbe the third movie I had ever seen in a theater. Life is weird, and now so am I.
