There was already an emotionally compelling CGI character this year. In a movie, where they used no shadows to hide said CGI character. But rather showed her in bright light amongst all real people, and this character was played by an actress with the ability to show with her face an incredible range of emotions.

Can we talk about And Lee and his wandering around the wilderness? He's so far from the center of the conversation that it's tragic to watch him making this, and "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk."

As an action flick, this was a great movie. My local theater did show it in 4K (or 2K, unsure) 3D @ 60FPS.
I am glad that I watched it in this format because the high frame rate made this 3d experience one of the best.

Saw it at my local Munich Dolby Cinema in 120 HFR 3D Dolby Atmos in Germany the only in theater in whole country with 120 HFR option

Great review, James! I'm not too surprised you didn't like it so much. Judging by the trailer, it didn't keep my interest. However, I still love and respect Will Smith as an actor so I'm hoping he will snag a better project soon.

That is super annoying to find out that the film was cut in another way. I think that the cinemas probably didn't want to upgrade to the 120 FPS format in the camera. Or maybe it was just a style choice of the cinemas over riding the movie director. Great catch that I didn't know about. Check my review if you get a chance.

Yea 2K 120fps 3D is all I can find in Atlanta. Debating whether I should see it tomorrow or not. Ang Lee did say he screened the film in this format and thought it was sufficient enough to showcase this new technology. He’s seen in in 4K and 2K 120fps and of he says it’s enough then I guess it is. Either that or he’s just trying to put butts in seats. I dunno maybe I’ll wait for when it comes out on streaming and watch it on my 144hz 4K monitor 🤣

You film in a high frame rate like 12O and when you drop the film footage in your 1080 or uhd editing timeline it becomes slow motion. Why the hell film in the formate lol. Reminds me of the lord of the rings the two towers being filmed in 48 frame rate. People don’t understand the movie theater shows movies in 2k or imax. What were the director and studio thinking
