The instant torque gained from the electric motor gives it the upper hand. Getting the proper start is half the battle in drag races.
Considering that Scorpio has a turbo engine, when it kicks in, the less weight & aerodynamics of the Hycross can still be offset. But the early start that the Hycross is gaining, is coming from a combination of less weight & importantly the instant torque from the electric motor.

I’m just super happy to know that electric motor can be punchy low end, at city speeds that is all I need, finally I’ll be happy to replace diesel for petrol hybrid in future !!

Actually it should be pitted against XUV rather than comparing with a boxy ladder frame scorpion . But suprisingly very close battle due to the fact an electric motor plus engine is required to come close to a scorpion.. 😅

It's not cars which wins the race. It's the driver who wins the race. And automatic gearbox is not good for any kind of race. It shouldn't even consider to be in any race. It should always be manual if you are trying to race

i love this comparo, that said, xuv700 vs hycross would have been better ( both monocoque, fwd car).Anyways, eagerly waiting for the sedan showdown

A Toyota is always a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Excelling in areas, it is not considered even a competition in. Add to that the fact that this Innova will outlast the Scorpio that Mahindra will make in the year 2050.
