Kars is one of the cities with the highest altitude in Turkey, that’s why the climate is very harsh as it is high and separated from the sea by mountain ranges. Temperatures reach as low as -39 °C from time to time in winter. So bring a warm jacket :)

I travel and make videos about all 81 cities and provinces in Turkey because I want to show my family that Turkey is more than just 5-star all inclusive hotels in Antalya.

Kars is a strong city in terms of history and geography. Kars, which is beautiful in summer and winter, is a corner of the country that is famous for its cold and the sincerity of the people.
Also a big thanks to Cheltikov Hotel staff who welcomed and hosted me so well with a smiling face. The hospitality of the east is something so precious and valuable that I am deeply sad to leave this place.

My grandfather came from Kars and with the population exchange in 1923 he was forced to leave his land and come to Greece (as many Turks left their land in Greece and returned to Turkey).
Looking for videos from there I saw yours.
Thank you for showing me little pieces of Kars history.

I have visited Kars back in summer 2009 as a teenager and I was awed by the welcoming people, calm way of life, and fantastic food and culture. Ani ruins is a majestic ancient city with a fantastic entrance gate 'the lion gate', and great views from it's many churches toward Armenia. An absolute must see, and there are also fantastic grottos and caves nearby. Now I want to see it in the winter too! :)
