Don’t know how I got here to watch this video clip. Honestly, this rice cooker surely can last forever and built tough and good quality. I know every bit detail about this rice cooker because I was the product manager of this kitchen appliance product lines at Tatung Company located in Long Beach California. Personally, I am still cooking my rice everyday with same Tatung rice cooker, same exact one you see in video, that my parents bought 55 years ago. It NEVER EVER failed once on me throughout past 55 years. It still attaches to its original electrical cord, connector, internal parts, and shinny body paint, only except few dings and dents that’s all!

I don't know how this particular company makes money. Their rice cookers just won't break. A vintage model from the same company has been in use in my family since before I was born, and the bloody thing is still going strong even till today!!

A Taiwanese here. This tatung company is a Taiwan brand. Those cookers are so well made that each of them can function for over 30 years(if used properly).

Wow, this is the rice cooker pretty much in every household in Taiwan. The rice cooker manufacturing shown in the video is a mechanical and very versatile cooker not just for cooking rice. So surprise to see "How It's Made" corporate with Tatung for this episode.

A Simple design, multi function cooker. Super durable, it’s like cast iron cookware of electronic rice cooker. It could be used for decades ....literally. Now it already becoming common memories and part of culture of Taiwanese.

Us Asians, we've all been there, coming back after half an hour to find we forgot to press down the "Cook" tab on the rice cooker... 😎

Everyone's Taiwanese grandmother has one of these, from decades ago, and will tell you how much better it is than the new ones are. And the new ones are still considered the best in the game. While not the biggest brand in Taiwan, I would argue that it is the strongest associated with quality.
