Moadim LeSimcha from Reb Mordechai in Eretz Yisrael. (It's first day Chol HaMoed here).
A few mistakes and basic misunderstandings here.
In fact the ke'era - seder plate has two types of Maror. The first is Chazeret.
Chazeret may be what they call horseradish sauce, mixed with beetroot in modern Israel, but the Rabbonin in Mesechet Pesachim, brought down Shulchan Aruch, clearly define chazeret (similar to the word chasar) as lettuce!

So, you should place the lettuce in the cup marked Chazeret. This is why the cup is nearest to the Baal haBayit in front, as lettuce is the preferred Maror. This is isn't just preference or minhag. This is clear halacha whether you are Sefardi or Ashkenaz. The Chazeret bowl is where you place the lettuce.
