Installing a $19 Cold Air Intake From Wish | Fiat 500 Abarth

EDIT:

To address all of the comments below and possibly in the future:

- I know the air filter is in a hot part of the engine bay, I just wanted to see if I could create an intake system for less than $50 without a CEL (It Worked).
- Either Way you look at it, the free flowing filter allows for more air than an OEM style filter in the stock airbox, allowing for all the bolt-on boys favorite whoosh noises.
- This idea really wouldn't be terrible if the filter had an airbox with/without a lid and an inlet pipe from the grill or bumper feeding colder air, which I never got around to doing.
- Or instead of an airbox, just relocate the filter into the fenderwell, which I would have liked to do, but was waiting on a FMIC first.

$19 on Wish + a little ingenuity = PSHHHHHHH

This is a super cheap and easy way to fit your vehicle with a cold air intake. If you dont have over $200 to blow or you think its too pricey, TRY THIS! I hope you enjoy the video!

In no way is this video sponsored by the wish app. To be honest i'd never use this app unless it was for something cheap i didn't care about, because it might take a week to show up or 3 months.

The problem with this setup is that the new cold air intake is actually going to be intaking hot air based on the position of the air filter.

Thank you Michael I thought I had wasted $400 after I accidentally ordered $400 forge intake not realizing it was for European spec cars not us cars now I have hope

honesly i would say just flip the plastic piece and have the intake piping and the filter facing the front of the grill so it can get some cooler air in.

Hey, I am looking to buy one of these por a BMW 120i, and, being a total newbie, I was wondering, what is that blue hose for?
I saw you plugged it into the AOS (?

Thanks for the great video. I am planning to do something similar. Can you share the size of the hoses, the T's used and the connection that you drilled into the original intake? Maybe you could put all the itens in the description. Best regards.

I'm so glad I found your video. This helped a lot with ideas for intakes on my 500T

The re-routing of the hoses is where I'm stuck. Did you have a reference you used?

Are you still running this? And have you encountered any issues with it?

I have a 500t that's getting a new down pipe an upgrade from the literal pony keg that was stock and have been looking for an intake.

I can justify spending 200 on a down pipe but 200 on an intake is just ridiculous when 90%of them are exactly what you did with prettier hoses.

Thanks for the video.

My car doesn't even have an air filter at the moment. I just need an affordable one within the next week so I'm trying to find something like this.

Nice idea
Dumb decision lol
It is too close to the engine bay and jt only changes the sound
Maybe with a hood scoop or something it can suck cold air and perform better
I saw some intakes that go to the front grill

You seem to be creative guy. I prefer spending more money on a reliable airfilter as k&n have oil treated filters preventing small particles (or most of them) to get in the engine. As I said, you are creative guy but whycin the hell would you place the intake at the back of the enginebay taking in all of the engine heat? :/ It does look like this tiny car doesn't have alot of space but then I would have kept the stock one. Or do spend money on an induction kit.

Awesome. Would this work on a 2004 chevy tahoe without the heat shield? 🤔

looks like hot air intake to me. open filter on top of a hot engine makes no sense, might as well keep the stock air filter box.

pointless still sucking in hot air from the bay lol

The 2015 Airbox system seems waaay more complicated than my 2014 abarth - I only have to mess with the AOS line.

You had like 3 extra things on the stock box to deal with !

Tks for this idea! I had an Abarth ram intake from Ebay, but the filter was just too small and caused restriction.

I kept looking at Abarth specific stuff, but you made that generic work great.

Now I just need to find a small filter to fit on the AOS.
