Luke Bryan opens up about the death of his brother

The country music star spoke candidly about his family and how he overcame tragedy in an interview with ABC News' Robin Roberts.

I lost my brother on 8/19/2020 and it hurts so bad. It’s an unbearable pain sometimes... most times. Luke seems like such a nice guy. I hate that he’s been through so much 💔

Yes a loss like that is very hard to overcome. I lost my son 2008 and then my brother 2009. Nothing can replace that loss in my heart. God make us realize to keep on living because that's what they would want us to do.

Luke, I lost my sister July 24, 2017 and my brother on August 19, 2017. It's do hard to get back to where you HAVE to be. I admire you for how you have handled things. Your sister, brother and brother n law ARE very proud of you.

Loosing a family member is very hard & two back to back really must be harder . I lost my son he was 16 & was murdered , I can relate to the heart ache and the pain we heal our hearts day by day little by little . God Bless you & your family Luke always !

Hey, Luke Love you and thanks for sharing your story. You have been through alot of troubled times. I know your family means the world to you. The hurt never fades even if it's been 40 yrs. Later it still feels as if it just happened. What people don't get is by you sharing your heart felt story it's helping people like me whose been through the same thing. Some people don't seem to understand the bond a person has with their family. My life has been turned upside down too. I lost my sweet Mother who was my best friend. I was alone with her by her bedside. It was a dark sad day. I loved her so much. Then a few months later I lost my brother to cancer. I love and miss them so much. I miss being with my mother. But I have my memories. They both are in Heaven and with me in memory and spirit. We have to keep going and try to make our everyday life to mean a purpose. Love you Luke!🙏♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️

I know his loss I lost my husband in 94 then I lost my daughter in 2011 ..
It's tuffer than I allow others to see ..
After raising my kids alone and getting thru college myself and my oldest son getting my daughter married and having two wonderfull kids and raising my youngest son getting him married and having kids .. It was what I thrived for as any parents would .
Then losing her was like losing half of my soul .
But I had to go forward for her and be in her Lives and embrace the memories of my daughter and make memories ahead for her kids .
It's been almost 8 years
.. .. but I know one day I'll see her again !! AND my husband to .

Lost dad suddenly on 3/6/2022 then my brother last week from sudden cardiac arrest. I relate to his statement about just starting to come to terms with one when tragedy hits again.

Nice to see his success. I've lost both parents to illness and a brother in a car accident. He seems like a good guy. He is doing well on idol. I like the 3 judges this year.
