Pitts India act of 1784
1. Company Territories in India were termed as British possessions and hence the control of the British Govt. over company affairs increased greatly

2. Dual Government was introduced which consists of :
a. Board of Control which consisted of Chancellor of Exchequer, A secretary of state & 4 members of Privy council to be appointed by the crown. They were to exercise control over companies Civil, Military and revenue affairs
b. Court of Directors: Who controlled Commercial functions

3. Governor-general was to have a council of 3 ( including the commander in chief)
4. The presidencies of Bombay and Madras were made subordinate
5. A general prohibition on wars and treaties
