Aired (December 2, 2023): Marami nang napaiyak sa kuwento ni Hachiko— isang aso sa Japan na matiyagang naghintay sa pagbabalik ng kanyang amo sa loob ng sampung taon. Naantig ang buong mundo sa katapatan at pagmamahal na binigay niya sa kanyang amo. Pero alam na nga ba natin ang buong kuwento ni Hachiko?

Sa kanyang ika-100 na kaarawan, samahan si Sandra Aguinaldo na sundan ang kuwento ni Hachiko mula Tokyo hanggang Akita Prefecture kung saan siya ipinanganak.

C Richard Gere ung gumanap na owner ni Hachiko sa American version ng Hachiko Movie. Kwento nga ni Richard Gere, nung time na binabasa plng dw nya ung script ng movie at hnd pa nagsisimula magshoot ang movie, grabe nga dw ang iyak nya hnd nya mapigilan 😢. Kya habang ginagawa nya ung movie, damang dama nya ung character nya dahil sobrang na-internalize dw nya ung character nya at ng dog sa script reading pa lng. Kya it came out na very natural ung execution ng acting nla sa movie.

I could not stifle years, could not prevent myself from crying because of the memories of my dog, Taggy. Hachiko and Taggy were both spotlessly white and Taggy taught me much about loving dogs and about life. Salute, Hachiko. Thank you, Ms Sandra Aguinaldo!

I couldn’t count anymore how many times I’ve watched Hachi the movie and I still cried. I even watched the Japanese version yet tears pooled my eyes.

When I first came to Tokyo to work, I immediately visited Hachi’s statue in Shibuya. It was overwhelming for me because I am really a dog lover. I also personally visited the museum where his organs are preserved at Tokyo University, including the statue where Hachi and Professor Ueno finally reunited.

I also visited Akita prefecture where he was born. I am so fortunate that I am in Japan that I got to experience myself all of whereabouts of Hachiko’s story and life.

I want to commend Ms. Sandra and the staff for this tear-jerking documentary. You made us appreciate and love Hachi again. ❤

Today is the 101st birthday of Hachiko... Natyempuhan na today ko napanood ang docu na ito. Very heartwarming story, iba talaga loyalty ng aso. I watched Richard Gere's Hachi many years ago, nakakaiyak.

I had a dog his name was Cheese Dog in 1996 . He waited for me for a long time and roamed around my house. I left my country in 2021. Leaving him made me sad. Since then, I never want to have any dogs. No one can replace him.
