New Cyprus Museum

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦’𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.
The raising of the exhibition volumes from the ground and the corresponding “sinking” of other functional entities release the
outdoor area on the level of the ground, facilitating the flow of movements and unifying the natural environment of the area, in a new widespread outdoor archaeological and cultural landscape.
The layout of the building on the plot creates a large introductory square, which at the same time performs as a reference square of the House of Representatives. The main entrance subsides as needed to receive the movement from the Public Garden, while the west side of the labs diffuses in the landscape of the river area.
