Over the years, our fascination with the heavens, mathematics, and mythology has produced one of the most common symbols: the star.

Stars have come to represent excellence, from their prominent place on more than 35 countries' flags to the small, gold stickers given to children as rewards.

One of the first songs children learn is “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” But it is another song, “When You Wish Upon A Star," that sets their imaginations whirling. Written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington and sung by Cliff “Ukulele Ike” Edwards, “When You Wish Upon A Star” won our hearts and Disney its first Oscar for Best Song.

The song has been covered by many artists, including Louis Armstrong on his album Disney Songs The Satchmo Way, but the only one to chart on the Hot 100 is by Dion and The Belmonts. This version was particularly inspiring to Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys who once said that the melody of “Surfer Girl” was loosely based on it.

Just as the stars shine brilliantly above us, ARORA shines among us.
