We start our road trip at junction 3 of the M25, making this an ideal mini road trip from London. Within 1.5 miles, we are at the charming and historic village of Farningham, straddling the River Darent, and a pretty feature of this beautiful Kent village. We walk the length of the high street and discover its little shops, pubs and a touch of history.

We then drive to our next destination of the quaint Eynsford and discover why it is the ideal Kent village for kids. However, before that, we take you through its charming streets, its historic Norman Castle ruins and once again touch on its plethora of pubs. Still, we also find a Tea Room, right next to Eynsford's old bridge and ford.

Our final destination is to Eynsford's railway station, and just a bit beyond - leaving us to enjoy the remainder of this trip in part 2.

@2:20 I never did go through Farningham, I’d go over that roundabout up to the next turning that took me past Farningham straight towards Eynsford… I wish I’d taken your route!

This is really fun for me. I’m American and my Kent ancestors were some of the very first to come to the new world just after the Mayflower. 1628 I believe. It’s so interesting to see where they might have walked along the same paths you drove or walked. Thank you. I’m catching up on all of your Kent videos now.

@10:36 Oh yes The plough… Last visited 18 years ago, ordered a ploughman’s lunch and for a tenner got an apple, a slice of bread and some cheese. Literally 70s cheese and apple! Never went back I have to say! Gorgeous Darent river outside to dip your toes in though :@)

Thank you for this of course. As I live near Dartford, I do know the area fairly well. The different pubs and that too. The Lion in Farningham which we preferred to The Plough in Eynsford really-because the menu was better in our view and was not so pricey at that as well! Whatever, well done for the views too.

Apart from the yellow lines it has not changed much I used to live in Farningham . I was hoping to see if the old bakers was still there at the other end of the village . my dad used to buy our weekly bread form there . But I'm sad to say I probably could not afford to live there as I'm sure i'd be priced out of the market because of the london people . Same old thing locals can't live there.
