The creatures are ridiculous. The bizarre snapping, the silly horse like head, but the worst was the group rolling like a wheel. Cute in Critters, goofy in this circumstance.

Probably what happened 15 years before the movie event was just a revolt. It makes no sense that creatures were involved; it's daytime, and the guy you can see in the background is pretty chill, so it's either a weird choice or just usual human violence during a time of crisis. The creatures are clearly a consequence of the pollution made by humans. They are a mix of insects, as you can see when the creature is dissected and when its stomach is opened, which is full of bugs. So, it must be some sort of adaptation made by Mother Nature. They don't attack animals, or the dog would have been long dead during the last attack because he probably barked, and the sheep were numerous. There's a theory that the creatures use women as incubators, which explains what happened to the mother toward the end, but it could be just digestion too.

I'd just like to take a moment to shout out Dead Meat and The Kill Count Because if I didn't, I'm not sure I or anyone else would know what critters or what a critterball is.

He didn't slip on the rocks by accident, if you watch carefully the pebbles are tossed up by the creatures from below. They are smart and noticed his pattern of running and jumping over the same spot.

Honestly I think Cage does the mostly silent and serious character really well, this and him in willy's wonderland fit really well

The rapid snapping of the monsters reminds me of that fact about a tiger's roar: its supposed to paralyze you. Keep you from running.

This movie has like a weirdly amazing monster design out of nowhere. Like top tier, it's why we need more monster horror.

One of the first times a monster being directly shown in a movie like this didnt ruin the impact. Now only are they NUMEROUS and clearly very smart which heightens the fear factor, but their nasty and uncanny designs and behaviors keep them unpleasant to experience no matter the exposure.

I think the "guns" going off during the opening scenes were the monster jaws doing that chattering thing.

I don't think the creatures we see in the film are the same ones that attack 15 years prior, also the gun shots that are heard during the opening scene happen during the day, which lends to the fact these creatures arent the originals, and are likely another species that arrived out of whatever happened, I really hope we get a sequel or two diving into it more
