The Kinks had their moments, The Beatles owned the decade.

I saw the Kinks many times in the 1980s. They were great! Comparing artists is silly. Enjoy the music .

The royal 4 bands of the British Invasion:
1). The Beatles
2). The Rolling Stones
3). The Who
4). The Kinks
60's is the best decade also IMHO 😎

For every good beatles song i can name a good kinks song. Waterloo sunset, thank you for the days, you really got me, all day, sunny afternoon, lola ect. I'm a fan of both.

The Beatles, after playing for thousands of hours in Hamburg, were one of, if not the tightest bands in the world. People who heard them at that time said they were unbelievable.

I only saw The Kinks one time back in a small venue 30 years ago. I remember them saying..."this is an old Van Halen song" before they went into "You really got me"

The influence of The Kinks can not be understated. Especially in America the impact of The Kinks was huge. If not only for You Really Got Me, which was the first song entirelly build around a single guitar riff, plus that sound was rougher than anything before it.

When I was a kid the Kinks and the Who were my favorite bands. I dug the Kinks just a little bit more though. Then I heard the Ramones and that was it. Without the Kinks though the Ramones wouldn’t have existed. Even when punk started getting weird with stupid rules and idiots would say you weren’t allowed to like any music that wasnt punk, I still listened to the kinks.

I love the Kinks. Ray Davies was on a Mozart level of pop-composition streak for a decade(+). And it doesn't get said enough: They were psyche-pop/rock pioneers. "See My Friends" was released in July 1965! Amazing band.

I don't know why a fan couldn't just love all the music, instead of having exclusive loyalty to one band. We were blessed with a lot of great music then.

Both groups were great. No one can deny the supreme importance of The Beatles, but it’s also true that the Kinks have been underrated.

Kinks "You really got Me" still rocks to this day . This song first comes to my mind from that era . I can't think of anything from the beatles that comes to mind until the Revolver LP .

I Saw The Kinks in 1981 in Houston Texas at a bar in downtown Houston and they rocked the place man it was so impressive. Listening to their stuff over the radio and seeing them live I mean after I saw him live I love The Kinks ever since
