Should I Uninstall QuickTime 7 for Windows

Apple Ends Support for QuickTime for Windows; New Vulnerabilities Announced.

It is advised to uninstall quicktime from your computer, but a lot of people still want to use it in the adobe premier video editing. if this is the case you can uninstall quicktime and then reinstall using custom install and only selecting quicktime essentials, this will leave out the apple picture viewer, browser plugin and quicktime player and just install the codec's. The problems is with the quicktime player.

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Apple QuickTime. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.

If you are using Quicktime just to watch videos, then it's crazy to be still using it.
VLC plays all the different formats, small footprint, easy interface.
Adobe Premier supports other extensions than just quicktime.
Mp4 extension is the most popular, imo.
Heck even Microsoft's Movie Maker supports more extensions.

4:25, you can install quicktime player, just disable the download codec on the player option, just like in windows media player can disable codec download

For Adobe users: You need to install essentials and QuickTime player. Then go to Control panel and uninstall Apple software update, but leave Apple Application support instaled. Go to Windows Firewall- advanced settings and blocked QuickTime.exe with Inbound and Outbound rules.

The only reasons I wanted quicktime are for the frame number, and so I can be able to export in more video formats in Source Filmmaker.

The problem for me is that I normally use Toon Boom Harmony (which heavily relies on Quicktime). I tried installing only the codecs, and it doesn't work on my Windows 10. I had to downgrade to Quicktime 7.6, and it doesn't give me any custom installation options. So unfortunately I have to have both the player and the codecs installed.
