In 1968, the world witnessed the first ever movie to feature the living dead. The name of the movie was the Night of the Living Dead, and it marked the beginning of an era when zombies became extremely popular.
Now almost everyone, even the kids who just started to walk and talk, knows what a zombie is.
They are featured in movies and series, in computer, console and VR games.
There are even comic series about the people who try to survive amidst zombie apocalypse!
There are myriads of universes filled with these scary creatures, who also vary in type, speed, intelligence… but they all have something in common: they are all deadly, and people who face them have to do all it takes to survive.

Three years late, I know, but still felt like leaving a comment.

I live in South Africa, and due to the high crime rate, just about every home has 3 walls around, 2 to the sides and 1 in the back surrounding the plot, then a palisade at the front. The are about 2 - 3 meters tall and the palisades normally have very deadly spikes on top. This is a very save environment especially towards Zombies and I doubt they would be able to penetrate the fence.

In some cases, there are no palisades but only walls, with a covered gate which means the Zombies won't be able to see into the yard. After that, all homes are equipped with a security grille door in front of the main front door, therefore, adding to the safety.

And lastly, there are hundreds of shopping malls and grocery stores within walking distance from every home, insuring a decent amount of food that might last a couple of years, plus, there are a few garden shops that sell seeds and other things like saplings which can be used to create a vegetable garden.
