The Monastery of Hozoviotissa Amorgos

Amorgos is known for its religious tradition. At the most peaceful spots of the island, one can see some beautiful churches and monasteries dating from 8th to 19th century. They are authentic and timeless and always built in beautiful locations, often on the sites of ancient temple and sanctuaries. The most famous is the Monastery of Hozoviotissa, which is literally hanging from the imposing cliffs, one of the most important religious monuments in Greece.
