Ugh, to this day Christian is my beloved Batman. So much brilliance in his portrayal. As Batman, he was subtle, wild like a beast, and at the same time, a tragic figure. He played Bruce's inner torment to perfection. Bale's Batman is still the only on-screen version focusing on a deeper level, on the mix of 'Hamletian/Byronic hero', which Batman really is. No other Batman actor showed this side so brilliantly. Bale is just special.
I enjoy different takes on Batman, and every actor has smth unique - like Bale and Val Killmer both, said about Batman: there is no 'one correct Batman' cause it's all based, BASED on a comic-book character, and every creator/actor has his own vision, actually just like Batman changed in the comics too, through the years. Only very immature, fanatic fanboys spend their days hating on this or that cause 'it's not canon'.

Anyway, for me, Bale's version of Bat will always be the jewel in the crown. He just has smth powerful in his eyes behind Batman's mask, and in general, which cannot be explained. He just has it.

That frigging perfect look in the mask - scary, intimidating, powerful, charismatic, secretive all at once. Only Bale poses this one-of-the-kind charisma as Batman. sorry but no other Batman actor has it. Affleck looks somehow forced when he tries to be scary as Batman, Pattison is too much of a 'ken doll' looking and Keaton looks good, but nothing exceptional. Nolan knew what he was doing by choosing Bale for the role.
