Meet the Man Behind the “Saved by the Bell” Theme Song

From 1989 to 1993, kids all over America willingly went to school on Saturday mornings. Scott Gale provided “Saved by the Bell’s” soundtrack and theme song, which came to him mere minutes after the show’s producers called him. “By the time I grab my books/And I give myself a look/I'm at the corner just in time to see the bus fly by/It's alright 'cause I'm saved by the bell.” The theme wasn’t supposed to have the show’s title in it, but it seemed Scott had missed that note … perhaps for the best. Today, the show’s four seasons only account for a fraction of Scott’s 2,000 network television credits, and to this day, he never gets tired of watching his friends at Bayside High.

Scott is a wonderful guy. I met him through a mutual friend many years ago. So up beat, cheerful and one hell of a musician..I was lucky enough to hear some of his amazing stories!!..he worked with some of the biggest names in Rock, pop and even Tejano! Truly a guy that lit up the room..

When I wake up in the morning...And the alarm gives out a warning...And I don't think i'll ever make it on time...OMG Scott! I still remember the song until now! (Me still humming the song in my head hahaha) Nostalgic sweet memory :)

The 80's/90's aesthetics is making a comeback, and I'm so happy about it.
Mark my words: 2020's will be the new 1980's.

If he got paid $1.00 every time that song played on TV he'd still be a very wealthy man.

There were 2 different singers who sang the theme song. Michael Damian was one of them. Who was the other?

I have a hunch that Elizabeth Berkley was really playing herself not just Jesse Spano.
