Sudan: rare glimpse inside war-ravaged El Geneina

A year into Sudan’s devastating civil war, Channel 4 News has gained rare access into the almost-destroyed city of El Geneina.

The city was besieged by the Rapid Support Forces last year. They took full control of it in November. Human rights groups have detailed countless atrocities - while the UN estimates up to 15 thousand people were killed.

The RSF have not given journalists any access to the area which they control - until now.

Filmmaker Sara Creta was given rare permission to travel to El Geneina to see what has become of the city.

UAE is the major instigator of the conflicts not only in Sudan but also in Somalia & Ethiopia. And the world remembers what they have done in Yemen & Libya. Someone has to stop UAE cause they are causing a lot of suffering in those countries.

Thank you for bringing this in-depth coverage about the human disaster in Sudan. I have been posting for months comments across social media asking where are all the student protests for Sudan? I also have observed a strong reluctance it seems for Al Jazeera and others to come out and really state that it is Arabs RSF that are committing so much heinous "ethnic cleansing" of Black indigenous peoples. I just cannot fathom how people who claim to be Muslims could commit genocide against other Muslims on the basis of "race." A few years ago I worked with a brilliant Sudanese architect here in the States. She grew up in Khartoum, and her father at that time lived there and had a new agri business going. I lost touch with her, but I know she must be devastated at what has become of her country.
