In the 90s, I collected celebrity photos. I was a programmer and requested one from Microsoft. I really didn't expect a response but promptly received a note from their office that Mr Gates schedule was busy but he would get back to me. A couple of months later, I received a small coloured, personally autographed photo of one of the richest people on the planet.

Dave, congrats! I cannot speak to your success in general, but I can say your style, clarity in particular, humor and subject matter hit home for me.

Thanks for the great times.

Dave, it has been known for a while that Leonard Trameil was a primary person for designing PETSCII and yes, he did it to add some graphics capabilities to the PET. But it would also not surprise me to learn that Microsoft was involved in the process too. Things like that often involve more then a single person after all.

Very cool. Glad you heard back from him about the easter egg. Keep up the good work.

Just a note Dave (may I call you Dave? Maybe Mr. Garage?) - When you said "University of Regina", I spit water on my monitor because it almost sounded like you said "University of Virgina" and I had to turn the captions on to see what you actually said. Congrats on the 10Million watches, hopefully your sub count starts catching up to your view counts. You're one of the only "Computer Guy" channels I actively follow any more, largely due to most of the other guys being... I'll say arrogant to be nice.

Missed registration for the event because I worked today and I'm on the east coast, but as someone with ADHD and Asperger's I happily bought your book and look forward to reading it. Life has really been a struggle as of late, hoping your book can help me in some way. :)

Leonard Tramiel, Jack's son, created PETSCII with the help of some other Commodore employees. He even recently blogged about it.

By the time YouTube recommended this video, registration was already closed at 86 minutes post premier... drat... I really wanted to do this on my niece's behalf because she is autistic.
