I am an Aussie living in Turkey for the last couple of years.. There are Americans that LIVE here. What you are seeing is a very specific, highly targeted and planned event from a very small communist ultra nationalist minority. This does not just happen to any random American. Also, these guys don't seem to know anything about Turkey, or even Europe for that matter.... This is weird to watch.

As a Kiwi I have respect for Turkey, my country (New Zealand) thought them in the war. I went decades ago to commemorate ANZAC memorial day I was treated as a friend of the country, well received where ever I went. They are nice hard working people, educated and passionate I have confidence they will do what is right for them, not for USA, not for EU, not for NATO.

I am Turkish, two points to make.
to Tom: turkey does not receive money from us because we are Nato. In fact, turkey put a downpayment of $2 billion for new F35 fighter planes which US confiscated and did not deliver the planes as of today. This is about three years past due now.
to Vinnie: head in the pouch is a retaliation to the incident that happened in july 4th 2003 where in northern Iraq 11 Turkish military personnel was arrasted by " American NATO ally military forces" by putting pouches on their heads and interrogated for five days. This incident is embedded to the minds of most Turkish people. I hope I made it clear.

i think EU is just the continuation of Holy Roman Empire with no peaceful intentions towards Turkey. They have seen us as their second biggest enemy after Russia, and it was like this since the beginning, their view never changed, and unlike the HRE, EU won't even last a century.

I am not Turkish but i visited Turkey many times and people are friendly and warm . Turkey doesn't need the west after obama destroyed their economy and send isis to attack. Turkey saying enough is enough, plus u need go to turkey and compared it to US . Street are cleaned no homeless no zambies. Check metro station that has gate glass so no one can jump for suicidal. Check out galataport marine under water . Sooo many things Turkey is way advance than west plus healthy organic food . Turkey new advance jet help Iran to find president plane crash . Everyone in turkey highly educated because university are free . 50% of population under 30 years old . So get your fact about Turkey right .

By WWI, Armenians joined the French and English in the south (like Greeks did), joined the Russians in the north east against Ottoman Turks and Kurds. After living together with their muslim neighbours for centuries, Armenians picked their Christian Brothers to murder and wipe out Muslims from Anatolia in the first place. Turks had to fight civil war and war against EU enemies from the beginning of WWI and for long following years, as a survival, independence war. The problem is, Turks defeated them all! This is what you call Genocide.
