How to open car HOOD instructions. Opening the hood is necessary because it allows you to access things underneath the hood such as oil brake fluid , window washer fluid , battery and to jumpstart the vehicle .

You need to distinguish between "openinging" and then "releaseing". Both actions are needed!

On my 2004 Volvo XC90 the lever is on the driver's side (American drivers side) bottom of the hood nose, about four-six inches in towards center of car. It is not obvious at all.
