My Grandmother, who was an ardent Christian watched South Park religiously until she died at 86. She said it was one of the most brilliant social commentaries ever created.

Why? because the majority of Western Satire, Cartoons and Comedy only make fun of Christians

I was also a "Simpson guy" but having watched Southpark for a while I've seen that I missed a lot. Southpark went places the Simpson didn't dare to go and they did a great job of it. The humor is really crude but seriously smart too.
