I was prescribed ambien after suffering from chronic insomnia since early childhood (toddler years, even), even after other RX meds failed me. I was actually too afraid to ever take it, and everyone (including my doctor) looked at me crazy when I said so. I genuinely believe that terrible sleep is borderline better to deal with than some of the side-effects (specifically total memory blackout) of Ambien. The stress of potentially doing something dangerous under the influence would keep me up more than my regular insomnia did.

I have a total tolerance to it after 20 yrs. Trying to detox currently. Doc is giving me half dose ambien and half dose seroquel to help. I think it's gonna work.

This is the only medicine that helps me sleep. Trezadone didn’t help at all. If I want a good night sleep I take ambien.

I tried it again after 2 years. I was needing to sleep so badly, I took 1 and it made me ill for over 1 day. I have decided that i will never take it again. I will have to ask my Dr, for another kind of medication to temp.get me over this hump.

My sister had horrible side effects .She had hallucinations saying she saw a beauty salon in her bed plus saa dog a biting dog that was going to bite her. neck and she accused me of stealing her meds and wanted to kick me out of living with her and I'm her caregiver . She's 80 but that wasn't my sister at all . Once she got off taking Ambein sheis normal shes suing . Law suit waiting to happen. Don't take if over 65 years old . She almost fell.

Ambien literally doesn't work on me at all

Ambien prevents people from getting the healing sleep they need. I took it when I lost my twin brother and couldn’t move forward through the healing process until I stopped taking it.

Ambien is also linked to far more psychotic episodes then typical gaba drugs. Fun!
