I have the opposite problem. As an alto I‘m so used to my lower register and I always sing in chest voice out of comfortablility. The closest I go to head voice is mixed voice, because my head voice is really weak. I have problems closing my vocal chords when I sing in head voice so I sound very airy. I want to work on my head voice to make it a bit stronnger so my mixing get‘s more stable

Hi Irene! Actually I am really passionate about becoming a kpop idol even if it takes 10 years. At present I am 14(near 15) and before auditioning i want to excel at all the categories and at present i am learning korean from a month. I wanted to ask you that how much time i should give to each practice daily and also my parents are saying me to take maths, physics and chemistry[Non-Medical Science] and I have to take it so will it be okay for me to practice alongside it as it has good carrer options or should I take a big risk and opt. Arts as it is the easier one which doesn't have many carrer options if i failed to be an idol so that I could give more time to my practice??

Thank you for this explanation video cause I was thinking that I was simply dumb due to lack of information about chest and head voice. I have been in love with singing for a long time and found this two different types of voice but when I talked about it to my friend who is a singer she called me dumb to think that there is any other singing voice rather than head voice which was obviously not true. but i did not stop until i find out if my thinking was true and here i am, you helped me understand that i am not dumb due to singing and switching between chest and head voice. I live in India where almost every female singer sings in head voice which also made me insecure about my voice cause i talked in chest voice and also sing in chest voice and head voice mix. When i was in middle school i sang for the first time in a solo song competition with a full song in head voice which made me dizzy so i switched to chest voice and cause i was a beginner i messed the switching part and ran down the stage crying while the whole school was laughing, again 1 month ago I sang a song with courage and confidence this time to face my insecurity in my high school with chest voice song which resulted me to f up the high notes cause i should have switched to head voice but i was not ready to face again others laughing at me but surprisingly even if my voice cracked in the middle and i forgot the lyrics, people were still shocked about my voice, some friends even asked me if it was my real voice or someone else singing in the back stage, lol. Next time i would not be scared to switch into chest to head voice cause now i know i am not dumb and is allowed to switch from chest to head voice during high notes. THANK YOU AGAIN IRENE ❤️😭🌺
