Rockstar Foreshadowed Sean’s Death BEFORE We Even Met Him... | Red Dead Redemption 2

It makes sense now after playing the game again for the umpteenth time. I never really put much mind into the mission titles. I just like how they are at times Bible verses, but it’s really interesting now seeing that it is titled “the last shall be the first” naming that Sean was the last gang member to be introduced and he is the first one to die. Sean, Lenny and Charles were all my favorite new characters. And once Sean gets killed I realized none of them are in the first game. I was heartbroken when lenny dies

Atleast Charles got out, hopefully he made it to Canada and had his own family

I hated Seans death to the core. Sean was my favourite character by far. A true OG. A legend. He deserved to survive to the end. He was fucking epic

Another detail I noticed! During the first train robbery mission, Sean taunts Arthur in the cutscene saying that Arthur is getting old and Sean is "the future". When Sean dies is when the gang really starts to get constant, non-stop heat on them and things start to unwind. I think it may be a little metaphor, symbolizing that the death of Sean is the death of the future for the gang.

I just realised, out of the 4, Sean was shot first because the Grays have seen his face when he brought moonshine to their tobacco fields. And Arthur was hiding in the wagon.

This might be the first time we see Sean in the game, but you never know, he might appear in a prequel.

At least he got to nail Karen in John's tent before he got to ride on to the big beautiful saloon in the sky. Sean is a legend.

Sean’s death is probably the most significant turning point in the game due to how after things just keep getting significantly worse for the gang.

It’s basically the point where it goes from “hey maybe they are recovering” to realizing none of their schemes are working and it’s going downhill.

I loved Sean and was in shock at how quickly all that joy we shared could end. I remember American Venom when Charles gets shot and not moving for several minutes as I didn't want to come back to his corpse, I was so tired of losing my gang family 😭

Funny. Walking into this mission, My Arthur had just escaped the captivity of the O'Driscolls. And I was starting to associate Micah's presence in a mission with things going to hell almsot right away. And in the middle of that thought- Sean's head explodes. Shook me a little bit lol

This was the moment I knew this WAS the videogame. I literally had to stop the cutscene, breathe and say "wow". That shot caught me off guard.

I was like "If they can kill a main character like this, they can do whatever they like"

The title “The First Shall Be Last” reminded me of John because he was the first rescued and the last to die.

I’ve always had the personality of Sean he’s just a funny guy trynna annoy his friends even if it will get him threatened cuz he knew they loved him and really wouldn’t leave him or hurt him. Loved Sean from the moment we meet him 🤣 shitty way to go.

Probably my favorite character to that point, Kieran's death was just as sad and kind of meaningless. Rest in peace, Rony Weasley that was for some reason renamed to Sean.

This one broke me, I had a few spoilers about this game but this wasn’t one of them so when I played I had no idea it was coming. Sean was easily one of the best characters
