I know Sweetwater doesn't carry this, but the TB Pro Audio - CS-5501 is one of the best channel strips out there that I've heard. It's loaded and sounds killer. They've got some useful freebies as well.

I'm a huge fan of the Fat Channel in Studio One. It comes free with Pultec-style and Neve-style EQs and LA-2A and 1176 compressors, in addition to the standard EQ and compressor found on PreSonus mixers. The Waves SSL-E channel is my choice for crafting the sound of a buss.

UAD SSL 4000 E MK2 is the best channel strip plugin to date. Attention to details is insane. Even Legacy version of the plugin beats the shit out of any other SSL 4000 E/G emulation.

interesting that these digital plug ins are so popular since vinyl has taken off, it seems like people are looking for (listening for?) analog authenticity and simplicity. I guess plug ins offer nearly identical transfer functions on the discrete sampled data that the analog systems offer on continuous data. But is there something lost? or does the emerging signal match in amplitude, phase, delay, doppler and energy at the same spectral line? I never see plots showing matches. Or is it enough to sound about the same?

so even though plugin alliance (and other companies) have some of the best sounding most accurate channel strips available, they don't deserve a mention because you don't sell the products? I love Sweetwater; but this is a biased and unfair comparison. It would be more accurate to title the vid "5 of my favorites" or "5 great channel strips from Sweetwater"
