According to the most recent data, approximately 28 million people are trapped in forced labor every day. These individuals span the globe and are present across nearly every industry. While there are a multitude of stakeholders working to end forced labor, more can always be done.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies would like to invite you to a panel discussion on the state of forced labor globally and what can be done to better combat it. Panelists will include Thea Lee (Deputy Undersecretary for International Affairs, U.S. Department of Labor), Fernando de Oliveira Sena (Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Brazil to the U.S.), and Manuela Tomei (Assistant Director-General for Governance, Rights and Dialogue, International Labour Organization). Michelle Strucke (Khosravi Chair in Principled Internationalism & Director, Human Rights Initiative, Center for Strategic and International Studies) will moderate. A reception will follow the event.

Additional speakers to be announced.

This event is made possible by a grant from the International Labour Organization Office for the United States and Canada (ILO USCA).

So glad that I found this through your short! Very surprised to hear Biden's part in all this. Never thought such an egalitarian movement would ever receive support from our corporate and capitalistic government. Wished this was more widely discussed
