You need the oral tradition to bequeath the new testament and then an infallible interpretation, provided by the Holy Ghost via the magesterium, to avoid inerrant interpretations. hence so many denominations and strife

By the way all chaos in the Church is caused by fallible men and their man made traditions. It was Jesus who 2, 000 years ago said to Peter and the Apostles in Jn 14:26, …but the counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” (future tense) Jesus the way the truth and the life cannot be contradicted. It is sacred tradition, the deposit of faith handed on and found only in the Catholic Church…the pillar and foundation of truth.
