GovTech Catalyst - a real-time tracking solution for firefighters

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service secured £1.25million of GovTech Catalyst funding to develop solutions to enable an instantly deployable real-time tracking solution for firefighters responding to emergency situations.

The fire department describes the hazardous situations they face and the positive impact a real-time tracking solution could have on their safety and ability to work effectively.

Great to see public sector money being invested in such a good cause. I hope any associated patents from new technology are waved to allow any fire service in the world to implement similar technologies without extra costs.
