Was just through there a few months ago. Took the Artist’s Drive side road, just like you did. Bypassed that gas station, probably the most expensive gas I’ve seen in the US! Went on to shoot the Milky Way at the Devil’s Cornfield with an A7RIV and 14mm GM. What a fun ride. Looking forward to seeing more of your trip.

Hi Mark, could you help put the message through Sony that the "Reg. Flash Shooting Set" settings on A7 IV are not working? I'm using a Sony flash and the function is just not working, and I'm not the only one.

How was the ride going through there with no windshield/fairing? Thinking of doing the same in a few weeks..

I rented a Harley sportster in LA back in the early 90's and decided to ride out to Joshua tree. One of the most uncomfortable riding experiences I have ever had (I can never get used to the Harley riding position). Anyway I got a puncture and the hire company came to pick me up and gave me another bike for free for an extra day. I then decided just to go for a short ride up the highway 1 and hang out at a cafe watching the Pacific which was the way to do it!!

Death Valley, a very special place. The highest temperature ever recorded on earth: 134 degrees in 1913.

Did this with my partner in 2014 on the way to Sturgis. I went gung-ho blind, new to the land and all I had was an apple. Not another soul in sight for miles. YOLO. Would I do it again? YEAH, with more rations LOL.

cut back on the sound track a bit and let the engine's one note song play on through!
