Rural village life in Yakutia, the coldest region on Earth. Life here is completely unique to anywhere else in the World. People in the village 's outside of Yakutsk, Siberia (Russia), have to deal with cold temperatures like nowhere else. The lowest recorded temperature is -71°C (-95°F) and the average winter temperature, -50°C (-58°F). The local villagers have adapted to life in Yakutia and it's challenges in an incredibly interesting way and we traveled from Yakutsk to one of these villages, through some of the most beautiful nature on planet earth, to meet some of the local Yakut (Sakha) people, head inside their village homes, and find out about this unique way of life in the "Pole of Cold" for ourselves.

I grew up in Michigan, USA - about the same latitude as Romania. While not so cold as Yakutia, it was cold enough for me to listen to the snow crunch and miss the sounds of home. I remember winter fog! I remember the wonderful silence of winter in the country! I am old now and I could not survive there anymore, but I remember!

Brilliant footage! We soft Brits could learn a lot from the Yakutsians. Every aspect of their lives has to be planned and they must have be very disciplined, but their pride in their heritage is evident. Stunningly beautiful, but treacherous place to live and I've loved every minute of this series.

It's so amazing how friendly people are around the world! The hospitality of those families is heartwarming :-) It's a Snow Day from school today north of Seattle (I'm a teacher). I think that family would laugh at our tiny bit of snow (3 inches) that called school off for the day...hahaha!

Everyone was wonderful and kind. They may not get a lot of visitors but they sure know how to be hospitable. Well done. Best wishes. 🙏👍

I would love to see the Yakutsk area in summertime, to see what is beneath all that snow 🤔. Thank you for showing us that part of the world . Greetings from South Africa 😘

Вам надо было ещё ночью ночное небо там снять. 😍 именно там, в сельской местности звезды прекрасно видны.

You guys take us to places we can only dream about. As cold as it is, you have managed to connect and bond with the locals. That is very heart warming and special with you guys. We always look forward to learning about people and culture around the world. Thank you for taking us along. Sending you lots of Love and Affection ❤❤❤ Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.

This was truly memorable. I wish I could give you a thousand likes. It's amazing to see how people live in such a harsh winter climate - completely adapted to it - living comfortably and happily. The long road though was both beautiful and frightening. So deep in snow, so isolated. Not a snow plow in sight! You made a wonderful video. I could never have imagined this way of life had I not gone there with the two of you. Well done my friends. Love to You Both. Suzi

Living in extreme climates presents some unique challenges and the people appear to be very resilient. It is so wonderful that there still are places that have not been overrun by people and have not lost its charm . Thank you for this picture of such a place .
