A mother's love, returned

For Peggy Means of Dowagiac, Mich., Mother's Day was just another "X" on the calendar, just another day without her daughter, Jennifer, who in 2017 was critically injured in a car crash before slipping into a coma. But Means refused to let doctors take Jennifer off life support. Steve Hartman reports on why Means finally can celebrate Mother's Day.

So delighted for Peggy Means whose unconditional love for her daughter, Jennifer, was unshakable throughout an ordeal no one should ever have to go through. Peggy refused to end her daughter's life not only for herself but for her grandchildren. What a beautiful demonstration of a "Mom." And then there are women who should never be a Mom -- who inflict plenty of pain and it takes decades -- if ever -- to move past. My mother was one of them. I have healed enough to be able to say "bless her and change me." With plenty of effort, I have changed and moved completely away from that very painful part of my life. I am fortunate and very grateful. Today, I will celebrate me with unconditional love!

MOTHER’S DAY LOVE POEM- 2024 -!!
There’s no greater power on Earth
Than the love we get from our mothers.
They feel our fears within themselves
Far more than sisters or brothers.

As seasons pass; in time we learn
We can’t always rely on others.
No matter what our mistakes may be
We know we can run to our mothers.

Mothers have great big aprons
To hide from the world our flaws.
They kiss and scold when we do wrong
Teaching compliance of laws.

From birth to death mothers lead
Our angels of kindness from above.
They give us more than anyone else
Preaching the importance of love.

Moms are certainly God’s gift to Earth

A mother’s love…the only thing we can compare it to is Gods love for us. Giving birth is the closest that a mom will come to death. Jesus laid down His life so we wouldn’t have to die. Beautiful story Steve! Perfect for Mothers Day. A mom’s love doesn’t give up!
