Показать описание
Columbia 14478-D, recorded Oct. 7, 1929
Eliza (Liza) Brown (1903-1983) was a classic female/vaudeville blues singer who also recorded under the names Ozie McPherson and after marriage as Ozie Ware. She made 8 recordings for Columbia in September and October 1929, and several recordings for Paramount (as Ozie McPherson) in 1926. Between 1928 and 1929, she recorded a few tracks for Victor as Ozie Ware.
Little is known of Ann Johnson aside from her duets with Liza Brown recorded for Columbia. Personnel records indicate that Ann Johnson may actually be Coot Grant (real name Leola Pettigrew, b. 1893 Birmingham AL - d.1970, Riverside Cty, CA).
