The happiness in Lawrence’s eyes when he gets to talk about nerd shit is heart warming

The biggest gaming and esports event in Finland, Assembly, actually began as a demo show

0:23 I did not expect to see myself in an Inside Gaming video :-) Thanks very much for covering this topic, it's always nice to see the demoscene get some coverage.

This is absolutely the best content I've seen on this channel since you started it. This is what I want to see more of. This is journalism filled with positive attitude, excitement and just intense interest. This is what will make people remember you as a channel that was a 'good' experience, instead of one that presents a ton of 'negative' feedback and info dumping (that can be found on, quite literally, 300 other channels)

I would honestly love a "Lawdogg nerds out about random shit" show on the regular

One of the biggest "gatherings" of the demo scene back in the day was a Norwegian convention/expo called The gathering. It is a crossover between a nerd convention and a Lan party and it's great fun to attend.

The Pico-8 community seems to be the place for new "demos", especially when looking at 3D stuff (pico-8 is a virtual console specifically for 2D, and so 3D is implemented as a software renderer).

Aaaah the good old days of the demoscene, 740kb of pure optimized code running on Amiga with graphics that will become affordable on PCs 8 years later.

My taste in music was set in place by demo scenes and the Future Crew. Explains why I like euro-centric techno!

I used quite a lot of the code I used in my cracktros and demos later on in the commercial GBA/PS1/PS2 games I worked on. Good times.

I want more stuff like this from inside gaming, too bad they're reserved for the Sunday shows

I like how often Lawrence had to reiterate how "cool" all of that was hehe.

Awesome! Thanks for the education. I love finding out what influenced things I use on a daily basis. It would be cool to delve into this, and see how it changed the gaming world today.

I remember the Atari XL demo scene in the 80's, I even did the music for a few, my old pal "Zaphod" was a genius demo coder.
