CoffeBeats #36 - Live looping with AKAI mini play and iPhone

In this episode I want to record some loops with my new controller AKAI mini play MK3. It has 128 GM sounds which are not great but when you add some reverb and compression they do the job.
I was wandering if it will be cool to record ambient sounds while recording loops to glue everything together for additional sonic experience.
Maybe next time I will record such a session in the forest :O

Great loop, and great work just using internal GM sounds. Also I kind of find it funny how everyone rushes to get the latest most powerful iPhone, just to use for social media, messaging and to take selfies. Loopy pro is so powerful, and along with some AUv3 plugins its a mini music making studio. I bet most people don't realise they have that kind of tool in their pocket.

Great jam! Have a question, if the iPhone is connected to your headphones and the ihoone is using loopy how can we hear the sound from loopy yoo?
Also, please could you share what model is your jbl and what cable are you using to the akkai? Thanks

Wonderful! I'm looking to input both midi keyboard and bass guitar through loopy and then to an external speaker, is this possible? I'm most confused about the last step, how do we get audio to and from the iphone to an external speaker?

I think your record is really nice (as always) but I´m not so sure about the native sounds of the AKAI MK3. I think your plugins are much better. By the way, you are using a JBL Flip speaker, aren´t you?

Are you Bluetooth connected to the JBL? When I do this, I get no sound out of my mpk. I am also using loopy pro
