I have had ONE SET Focal K2's for 7 years. I have had 10 subs, 8 amps, 4 head unit, s and one set of Focals K2's. I have had them transferred into the 4 cars that I have owned over the years. And I have challenged Audio store owners to compare my system to theirs ( in their boards). Does that tell you how good they OUTSTANDING

An interesting thing to add regarding sensitivity is how it affects the way the speaker reproduces the input material. A speaker with a higher sensitivity will usually also have a higher grade of definition and speed. When it comes to musical playback, the definition is where the excitement in the music is.

Love Crutchfield from way back in the 90's.

One other benefit to using passive crossovers - some incorporate compensation networks to help keep the impedance curve flatter. An example is Linear Power. I hope to have Ray Rayfield in an upcoming 12V Talk podcast so he can further explain. Great vid as always, Mark! 👌

I actually have two sets of 6.5” Focal components in my car. Pricy but sound phenomenal. Bought them in 2011 and are still going strong. From 2011-2018 they were installed using the regular passive setup and sounded great. Recently had everything installed in a 2018 Accord and they did the active setup. It’s a world of difference in sound. Especially with high-end speakers like Focal it is very worth getting the most out of them. It’s like going from a regular exhaust to a free-flow dual exhaust.

I only order head units from Crutchfield—they provide harnesses, adapters, kits, installations instructions...you always get what you need!

I’m researching and building my first speaker system in my car, that I’ll be installing myself. Most videos on the YT over explains things and are biased. Mark you do a great job of keeping it fair as well as making it easy for a beginner to understand. SUBSCRIBED!

Your videos are 🔥🔥🔥 all or at least 99% of your viewers can see I am blind and still love to do car audio and what impresses people the most is seeing me install it with very little help so I listen to your videos to help me out with newer generational type shit lol

This is why I use active crossover, it gives you all the tuning ability. Clarion active crossover love it.

Wow car audio is such an interesting rabbit hole. I personally just wire 4 decent door speakers directly to the head unit and add an amp and sub in the back somewhere. Achieved very decent results and saw no need to go further. There's an 80/20 rule when it comes to results. You can achieve 80% of the result by putting in 20% of the work and money. You'd need 80% of the work and money to achieve that remaining 20%. I'm sure the end result is worth it but dang.. you must have some high brow clientele for your installs. It would be an interesting video to see the client interaction side of your business. Where you discuss product and numbers with your customers.

This video explains it extremely well, but tbh my 2 sets of JL audio c2 650x Coaxials has everyone thinking I'm running components. Really the sound is so crisp and vocals are so dynamic it blows people away. I also love how easy they were to install thanks to them being Coaxials.
