For those of you who are unable to make this work, follow these steps . Maybe it 'can' help :
1. Add the following lines in the

<bean id="myBeansValidator" />

<mvc:annotation-driven

the <mvc:annotation-driven/> tag instructs spring to scan various annotations like @valid annotation.

2.If after the following steps u can a NoClassDef found error for a valid impl of a validator factory and u are using eclipse, make sure ur hibernate validator jars are deployed to tomcat etc. Use deployment assembly in eclipse for the same.
